The big day is here!

Today is James' FIRST day of veterinary school!  I am so proud of him.  Last night when we went to bed I just laid there thinking of how hard he has worked to get to this day and all he has accomplished just since I've met him.  I admire his work ethic and I'm so excited!  I just love him.

He deserves this opportunity and I hope that I can be the most supportive wife of all time.  Wish me luck!  :)

My favorite blog...

... is just too ridiculous and hilarious to not share with everyone.  We all love animals and sarcasm, so this takes the cake.

OSU vs. USC

What a game. Ohio State Dominated the superior USC offense for 3.8 quarters, but they were finally bent too far and broke. USC's defense (or OSU offense) stopped OSU. For the second week OSU was not really able to run the ball, but a lot of teams have a hard time running the ball. Either way, it was the best game I have ever been too, I just wish we won at the end. I am sure that all of the writers are going to talk about how OSU couldn't match up, or blew it, or something to that effect, but the truth is that they held one of the best teams in the nation to a very close game when everyone predicted that we would get crushed...

Now to our take. I have never felt so much energy in that stadium. From the moment USC got the ball to the last play when the scored the game winning touchdown you couldn't hear a thing when they were on the field. When you had to stop jumping to catch your breath, you could feel the rest of the stadium shaking as though it was going to fall apart. Despite USC's Barkley's prediction that it wouldn't be any harder that highschool, you could see that he was visibly shaken when he couldn't hear. And it was even more amusing when the USC's players (#86) were acting like it was no big deal that we were loud, which made us get louder, and disrupted everything they did.

It finally all came down to USC's offensive line outlasting OSU's Defensive line, and we were all sad when it did. After the game we all saw the what if's. What if Tressel would have tried for one of those 57 yard field goals that we could have take rather than punted. What if we would have been able to run the ball for more than two yards a pop, or stop them on 4th and 1 at least once.

Still, best game I have ever gone too, and I wouldn't have traded those tickets for the world. Love you doll.

Today was the last day of my job...

and they called me and told me not to come in. And it would figure that I didn't get the message until I get into work. Today isn't actually my last scheduled day, but I gave my shift tomorrow away, and I am not going to go in on Friday. I feel bad, but I am just going to call off on Friday (my last day). The other side of me doesn't feel guilty at all. When I interviewed for this job in April I told Dr. Burdick that I wanted between 30 and 40 hours a week. I think that the best week I had during the summer was about 20 hours (but I am not sure I ever actually hit that mark) Leah called me and told me not to come in on average 1 shift per week. The worst was when I had 12 hours (four, three hour shifts) and she called me and told me not to come in for three of the shifts. That gives me 3 hours for the week.

I gave up a job in campus where I would have been guaranteed at least 15 hours a week. I did gain more knowledge by working there, and I met some great people (and pets) like Debbie Groce and her wonderful Golden Doodle Kobe. I am not sure if I am going to keep taking my dogs to Dr Burdick or not, because I am kind of hurt that I have been treated like that.

Well the bad thing is, that it is too late in the summer for me to get another real job, and that this job ruined my chance to get another job here in Columbus. So I went from making all of $50 a week to $0 a week, but at least I won't have to worry about working during school. Hopefully I will be able to get a job next summer that actually has time for me.
