Exams and South Carolina

Last week I had my hardest week ever of exams. Starting the week with Anatomy followed by Histology, Cell Bio, and finally ending the week with Radiology. Overall, I am a little disappointed with my performance on my exams, but I am happy to have them over with. Tiffany was very supportive, knowing that I was stressed, and took care of everything outside of studying last week. I could never have asked for a better wife.

Friday morning we took off to South Carolina to see her family for an early celebration of Christmas. It started off pretty well, we left early in the morning stopping at Tim Hortons for a coffee and breakfast sandwiches. We did a lot of talking and catching up on the drive and listened to some music. We stopped off in Charleston West Virginia for lunch at the Cracker Barrel... which may have ruined part of our trip. We arrived at Gabe and Beth's house around 5:30 and got settled in. We ordered Danatos pizza for dinner, and it was around then that Tiffany started feeling a little sick. To spare some of the details, we will just say that we are pretty sure that she got food poisoning (presumably from cracker barrel). Tiffany unfortunately spent most of the trip inside, unable to see the beautiful fog, and rain that South Carolina had to offer.

We opened presents on Sunday morning and overall I think everyone was very satisfied. Tiffany and I both got some great gifts and I think we gave some great ones too, and it was a lot of fun to open them with the family.

Kurt and I spent a large chunk of the trip trying to beat the New Super Mario Bros. Wii game, and we got very close (still stuck on bowser). Tiffany and I went to the urgent care center on Monday to see if we could figure out what was going on since she was not getting better over time. We were both very impressed with how the thorough the doctor was, and after a relatively short visit he gave Tiff a "GI Cocktail" and sent her home. With in a while she was already starting to feel a bit better and was able to eat a full meal for the first time in a few days.

We got up Tuesday morning, missing our dogs, we got our stuff together, and started the journey back. We made a brief stop at Ikea in Charlotte NC and bought some useful stuff for the house.

This leg took longer, party because I was tired, partly because I had to pee a lot, and partly because we were starting to feel home sick so it seemed to drag a bit. We stopped at Wythville Va, and had lunner (lunch/Dinner) at Bob Evens. Great meals and nice view. I would stop here again if I were passing through.

We finally got home around 9:00 pm and cuddled with the dogs a bit before we called it a night.

I do like being on vacation, but I was SOOOO happy to be home.

I am looking forward to the rest of my break... I have some interview/tours at the vet school, actual christmas, New years, and Rose bowl to look forward to with my beautiful wife.

I love you James, thank you for taking care of me while I thought I was dying from food poisoning. I think I will never eat out again. Except for pizza. And sushi. And M. Ok nevermind. :)

I am glad we have over 2 weeks left to enjoy before you get busy again!

Sounds like other than tiffany getting sick you had a great time. I hope all is well and I look forward to spending next Christmas with you and your animals!
